Welcome to the JH London walks website,
which details London walks and talks
run by John Halligan, City
of London Guide.
John
can offer walking tours in and around the City of London.
Each walk has a theme and in each one John will explain
the derivation of well-known phrases or sayings in the
English language. Walks last approximately two hours
with regular stops and end at a public transport link.
Groups are normally restricted to a maximum of 20 people
and the cost is £7 per head.
Alternatively,
for groups of between 2 and 20 adults, John can customise
a walk at a date and time to suit you.
The charge for this private tour is £42 for up
to 6 people and £7 per head after that. If you're
a visitor to London, a walking tour with John could
really enhance your stay and make it a memorable one.
“A
lot of people tell me they’ve worked in the City
for twenty years but didn’t know a fraction of
the information they’ve learned in a two hour
walk with me” says John.
Variety
is a guaranteed element of John’s walks. London
is packed full of history going back to Roman times
but there’s a wealth of modern buildings to discover
too!
Noise
from traffic and building works in the City can prove
challenging for customers on guided walks in London.
John’s use of a voice-enhancing system
helps to overcome the background noises. This has proved
to be very popular with groups.
If you’re interested in joining a walk or would
like to be placed on John’s mailing list for information
on future dates, please give him a call on 020 8462
1947 or email him on jhalligan2000@aol.com.
